Winsafe P.I. Stage System
This powered platform system is designed for use in performing window cleaning and light building maintenance on high rise buildings. The platform is suspended from two wire ropes and is fitted with two secondary wire ropes to arrest and support the platform in the event of a failure in the primary system. Two wire rope systems where workers use separate safety lines can also be provided. The platform is of modular construction allowing it to be assembled for use at different lengths. One end section can be separated from the main platform and fitted with an end barrier to allow it to be used as a single person basket. Motivation is provided by electrically operated traction hoists.
The primary power panel on the platform contains a phase failure and sequence relay. In the event that the power phasing is not correct for operation of the platform or in the event that one leg of the power supply is interrupted the sensor relay will prevent operation. Pushbuttons on the hoists allow the operators to control directional travel.
An upper travel limit sensor is provided to stop operation when the platform reaches the final upper travel limit (a tripping ring is to be attached to the primary wire rope at the thimble to provide a point of contact for the limit sensor arm). An overload sensor is provided with each hoist to prevent platform lift when the platform is loaded beyond its rated capacity. A second limit switch stops the platform descent when the load is removed from the suspension. This slack cable sensor can be overridden for rigging.
